Who We Are
Monarchs Matter is an environmental nonprofit organization based in Long Island, New York working to protect monarch butterflies and to establish sustainable spaces where they can thrive.
With the eastern monarch population plummeting more than 80% in the last three decades due to increased temperatures, pesticide use, and deforestation, we aim to support monarchs by growing milkweed with pesticide-free practices and by tagging monarch butterflies in our Raise, Tag, and Release Summer Program to contribute to monarch research and to raise awareness among youth—our future leaders in combating climate change and the loss of biodiversity.
Join us on our mission to build a sustainable future for monarch butterflies and all wildlife.
